About meMy name is Véronique Thériault. I grew up in the small town of St-Quentin, New Brunswick. I studied at University of Moncton where I obtained my bachelor in Education with concentrations in Math and Physics. My passion of Cross Country Skiing allowed me discover the North and made me fall in love with it. When I completed my bachelor degree, I decided to start my teaching career in Yellowknife. From there I had an opportunity to move to Whitehorse, where I worked at Academie Parhelie. Throughout my 8 years at Academie Parhelie, I taught Math, Science and Phys. Ed. I'm now starting my fifth year as a Math and Science teacher at FH Collins. I have always been lucky to teach what I love and to my favorite age group, teenagers. About my classMath is my favorite subject. I approach math as if I am playing a game. However, I know that this is not the case for everyone. I always try to make my class as fun and interactive as possible. My goal is to make each of my students enjoy math and at the end of the year and make them reach their full potential in my class.
There is no secret on how to succeed in math. Practice is the key. Therefore, everyday my students will have homework that will need to be completed daily. If students need extra help to complete their homework or to better understand a concept, I am available during lunch hours and after school. |
